About Dubai Maritime City

Dubai Maritime City (DMC) is a premier maritime hub located strategically between Port Rashid and Dubai Drydocks World. It covers an area of 2.27 million square meters and is designed to support a wide range of maritime activities, including ship repair, maintenance, and construction.

DMC offers state-of-the-art facilities, including shiplifts, dry docks, and workshops, making it an ideal location for maritime businesses. The city is part of Dubai’s vision to become a global maritime center, providing services and infrastructure that meet international standards. DMC’s development integrates commercial, residential, and leisure amenities, enhancing its appeal as a comprehensive maritime community.

The Syncrolift shiplifts play a vital role in DMC's operations by effectively transporting the ships to the dry berths for business partners to provide ship repair services. This supports the supply chain and maritime ecosystem, which is essential to DMC's Industrial District and its many companies, including Grandweld, Albwardy Damen, and more than 280 others.

The Syncrolift partnership serves DMC's commitment to providing state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities to its strategic shipbuilding and repair partners.

Masters of Efficient Docking

With a goal of 1000 ships through the shipyard there is no shortage of ambition at the DMC. They are really the masters of planning and executing dockings and undockings as proven by this video:

Handling operations on 48 dry berths requires a very skilled crew and the DMC shipyard has some of the best. They are also frequent users of the Syncrolift Academy, and their willingness to continuously learn and improve should be an inspiration for large shipyards.

Ambition and drive

The daily use of shiplifts and transfer systems at DMC require a dedicated focus to maintenance and inspection. To operate safely they cooperate tightly with an on site Syncrolift crew. They make sure nothing can jeopardize the operation, and maintenance is carried out without hindering shipyard activities.

The close relation between DMC and Syncrolift also ensures firm sight on the future. Both organisations firmly believe in investment for the future and the synergies of innovation and forward thinking is already showing both in Dubai and at the Syncrolift HQ in Norway.

Visit Dubai

Dubai is an exciting, friendly and welcoming place with lots of things to do. From seeing famous buildings like Burj Kalifa or the beautiful Burj Al Arab, to exiting adventures like visiting a Bedouin camp or riding an abra (traditional boat) on the Dubai Creek.

Emiratis are eager to share their culture and traditions with visitors, and though the city is full of modern day wonders, the authentic Emirati culture is never far away. We highly recommend going to the Al Fahidi Historic District and wander around for a feel of old Dubai.
