Slipways

A Slipways is a good solution when the yard has shallow waters. A carriage will move along rails from land to sea to enable the collection and transportation of ships ashore. Syncrolift offer two solutions:

1.      The inclined slipway option positions the ship at an angle, with an advanced version moving the ship over the knuckle (the transitional zone between sea/slipway and flat land), transitioning the vessel from an inclined to a horizontal position. This method allows for multiple ships to be serviced simultaneously once they are moved inland.

2.      The wedged slipway method involves constructing a horizontal platform that is gradually extended into the sea until it is sufficiently submerged to load the ship. After securing the ship, the platform is pulled back to land, from where the ship can be transported into land. This method allows for multiple ships to be serviced simultaneously once they are moved inland.

The inclined, or "over the knuckle," method is generally suitable for smaller vessels, up to 100 meters in length, while the wedged approach accommodates ships of any size.
